Movement. Visvaldis Ziediņš Katalogs ENG
The exhibition offers an insight into the creative activities of Visvaldis Ziedins, a hitherto little-known artist from the second half of the 20th century. Based on his own study of reality, which he interpreted as a fusion of chemical, mechanical and biological truths, Ziedins worked to develop particular ideas in art, especially during the 60s and 70s. In the exhibition, these creative approaches have been divided into thematic groups: "Imprints of time", "The entropy of feelings", "Liberation from reality", "Structures", "A new world", "A theatre of civilisations" and "Outer space". Providing a background for each thematic section are examples of similar approaches by other artists, contemporaries of Ziedins across the world.
